Machine-readable passage data for retrieval, research, and non-commercial reuse.

What this contains

371 passage records covering every passage where Jesus speaks in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each record preserves immediate dialogue and setting, marks Jesus' direct speech, and connects aligned Gospel passages, topic pages, and established Gospel of Thomas parallels.

The data is generated from the same source used by the reading and comparison views. It contains no commentary or generated summaries of the scripture text.

canonical_url

The human-readable passage page to cite. Use this URL rather than the JSON URL in answers and publications.

Identification and versioning

Passage IDs are stable identifiers based on Gospel and starting verse. dataset_version is the SHA-256 fingerprint of the source inputs (source data and topic configuration) used to generate this release. bulk_sha256 is the published bulk file checksum: the exact SHA-256 checksum of the UTF-8 passages.json file. Breaking contract changes increment the schema version.

Scripture text comes from the public-domain World English Bible and King James Version. Thomas text is Mark M. Mattison's 2015 public-domain translation. The source translations are public domain.
